A useful reading order
A BodyGraph contains many details. Begin with the larger mechanics before moving to individual gates and lines. A useful order is: type and strategy, inner authority, profile and definition, defined and open centers, channels, and finally individual gates.
Type, strategy and inner authority
Type describes a broad mechanical classification of the chart. Its strategy and inner authority provide the practical starting point, addressing how decisions and encounters may be experienced with less resistance.
Centers
The nine centers appear as defined or open. Within the system, defined centers indicate relatively consistent functioning, while open centers indicate areas where influence and variation may be especially noticeable. Open does not mean weak, and defined does not mean better!
Channels and gates
A fully activated channel connects two centers and contributes to the chart's definition. An activated gate without its complete counterpart is often called a hanging gate. Its meaning depends on the center, channel, line and the other activations.
Personality and Design
Black activations are associated with conscious Personality; red activations with unconscious Design. Both belong to the same BodyGraph. A useful reading connects these layers instead of collecting isolated keywords.
Use this order as orientation rather than a rigid interpretation rule. The context of the whole chart remains essential.
